When you start a workout, Knurl runs a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Its buttons are real controls: adjust weight or reps with ±, tap ✓ to confirm the set. The set is saved, the rest timer starts, and the next set queues up — all without unlocking your phone.

No. Knurl has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server. You download it and start training. Your data belongs to your device and your iCloud — not to us.

Knurl syncs through your own iCloud, end to end. Your iPhone, Apple Watch, and any future devices signed into the same iCloud stay in step automatically. Turn iCloud off and everything simply stays local. You can export your full history as JSON or CSV at any time.

An optional feature: save your gym’s location once, and when you arrive with a workout due, a Live Activity offers to start it from your Lock Screen. The geofence check runs entirely on-device — your location is never sent anywhere. If you’ve already trained or it’s a rest day, Knurl stays quiet.
